Greensky Bluegrass welcomed Phish bassist Mike Gordon to the stage during their Saturday performance at the Inaugural Camp Greensky.

Gordon picked up an acoustic guitar and the group went into a surprising cover of The Bands “Endless Highway,” originally written by Bob Dylan and Robbie Bobertson. Moments later, Mike Gordon swapped the guitar out for his electric bass and dove into a camp-thumping version of Greensky’s “Don’t Lie.”

After years of Greensky performing Phish covers, or even full sets of phish like in Vegas 2014, this must have been a huge milestone on a Phishy journey that still seems like it’s just getting started for Greensky Bluegrass.

Greensky set up late Saturday night without mic’s, sound gear, or even lights, just a fire, treating fans to an acoustic set in the shadows. Having just played with Gordo earlier, this somehow seemed akin to when some guys from Vermont had their own festival and played unannounced in the dark (okay, Greensky wasn’t on a tower…).

Greensky members probably have bandaged fingers after playing three main stage shows (2 sets each), a late night fireside set, and a phoffman solo set, a Bruzza solo set, and a Bont hosting a silent disco under the DJ name ‘Bontzilla.’

Greensky’s Thursday show is up on Nugs.net HERE.
